YES! Everyone can say on their packaging that their product is “100% natural” but with that organic logo, you’ll have the confidence to buy specific products with guarantee.
This is a heavily regulated area and the foods or drinks that get the Certified Organic label have gone through serious inspections and preparations. In order to get that “organic” label, land must be free of all prohibited substances for at least 3 years before crops can be certified organic, and then farmers still need to undergo regular inspections and audits.
Buying organic products guarantees that the food or drinks you consume contain no toxic pesticides or chemicals, no synthetic growth hormones or antibiotics, no GMOs, no artificial additives or preservatives, and are grown/raised usingorganic farming methods. Organic farming is an agricultural method using only natural substances and processes.
Organic is always natural and non-GMO, but the opposite cannot be said about the products that DO NOT have the label, and in that case you might be consuming all the above - like chemicals, toxic pesticides, growth hormones etc. Label also guarantees that the product has fulfilled strict conditions on how they are produced, transported and stored.
We as consumers, know that organic is good for us. We think of organic and locally grown produce as pure—as healthier and, implicitly, morally preferable because it does not pervert our nature. Organic products make us feel assured that we are not introducing any harmful chemicals into their bodies or environment.
However, putting the “organic” label on a product isn’t just slapping a word on the packaging with no accountability; it is your clear promise, that what you are eating has been produced without synthetic chemicals or genetic modification. Remember: the non-toxic life is never expensive - it's priceless.
